Screens alone or a new roof with screens?
If your porch or patio cover already handles overhead weather, side screens may be the useful next step. If rain or midday sun still reaches the seating area from above, a louvered roof may need to lead the project. EDG can plan either path without forcing a roof replacement for a side-screen problem.
Start with the cover you have
An existing covered patio or porch may be a screen-only project if the beam and posts can take the housing and side guides. If the patio also needs overhead sun or rain control, plan the roof and screens together.
Protect the view you want to keep
Insect mesh favors airflow and view-through. Solar fabrics can cut glare and change daytime privacy, but denser fabrics also change daylight and the view. Privacy after dark depends on lighting on both sides of the screen.
Make the opening work
